When Jangmi - which means Rose in Korean - hit land it brought winds of more than 191 kilometres (115 miles) per hour. The storm weakened after leaving Taiwan on its way to Japan, and was downgraded to a tropical storm. Workers had to fix power lines after 86,000 homes were left without electricity. |

Every four years people in the US vote to elect their president. The four years between elections is called a term of office. The next presidential election is in 2008. Politicians can only serve two terms of office. If they win two elections they are not allowed to stand again in a third one. There are other elections halfway through each term of office called mid-terms. In mid-terms a president isn't elected but other US politicians are. |

Children in Japan have been putting their robot building skills to the test as they battle to qualify for the World Robot Olympiad.
More than 80 teams took part in the contest in Tokyo, each building a robot that had to be able to work its own way around a course, and complete tasks.
